The Eyemouth Maritime Festival - Our VenuesEyemouth is a wonderful town for a festival, small, friendly with wonderful countryside close by and all the delights of a working harbour. Eyemouth, population around 3600, is located on the South East coast of Scotland, seven miles north of Berwick Upon Tweed, approximately one hours drive from Edinburgh or Newcastle, two hours from Glasgow or Carlisle. Eyemouth is Scotland's second largest inshore fishing port. Fishing remains the mainstay of the local economy but tourism also plays a large part. The VenuesThe choice of venue has an enormous influence on any event. Two main factors will have a moulding influence on The Eyemouth Maritime Festival; the wonderful setting of Eyemouth itself and the special sense of community generated by the visiting boats. The hub of the festival will be Gunsgreen House, a magnificent Robert Adam designed mansion house. Our concert venues include the Eyemouth United Congragational Church, The Fisherman's Mission, and Gunsgreen House. There will be more informal events in OBLO, Ship Inn, The British Legion.and other venues around the town. Our main ourdoor stages will be at Auld Kirk Square and The Old Fishmarket. . |
